the body is the only oracle you need ❤️‍🔥

KP KASZUBOWSKI

POET, FILMMAKER, RESEARCHER

I am inspired by this poem "Invisible Dreams" by Toi Derricotte where she urgently declares, "I have to make place for my body/in my body." I take this as instructions for me, my body in my body, and place-making as essential in the creative process. This poem inspired much of what helped Breena Fain and I design one of the 5 classes in PORTAL STUDIES [BONE COURSE].

Your body already knows the way.

Every oracle, every divination system, every external source of clarity—it all exists to do what your body already knows how to do: speak.

What if we turned inward first? What if, before drawing a card or casting a chart, we tuned in to the messages pulsing through our bones, the gut-knowing before the question is even formed?

When designing the BONE COURSE, I wanted to call back my own power. Of course there is merit in assessing genre and form that others have created. Seeing how your idol wrote their story or painted their piece.

But what I’m interested in are our inner faculties. The structures inside of us that we can rely on. ❤️‍🔥 What inside us is so sound and sturdy that we can lean on it while creating something substantive in the world.

I work in the long form: novels, poetry collections, screenplays, interconnected researched essays — I’m interested in pulling together all my resources and combining them through space and time to create something one of a kind. Because of this I’m often dissecting pieces of work made by others. But nothing gets me closer to making my own than trusting the parts of me I’ve built over time will sustain me on the journey.

I have to trust it in my bones if I am going to keep going.

My body is the only oracle I need.

I wrote a little bit more on this over on Substack, about movement, breath, and trance as ways to access the body as the writing source, and not the mind. Check it out over there -->

PORTAL STUDIES [BONE COURSE] is a five-week immersive container (five Sundays, April 13 - May 11, $111) designed for artists, writers, and makers who want to create from the inside out.

We begin with the body. The breath. The furnace within.

Because before a word is written, before a vision takes shape—there is sensation.

🔥 The heat of an idea forming
🌊 The pull in your gut that says this is it
🌬️ The exhale that clears space for something new

This is an invitation to trust your own structures—your bones, your voice, your presence—as the foundation for making work that lasts.

Over five Sundays, we will:

✨ Use movement and breath to access creative flow
✨ Work with trance as a creative portal
✨ Generate writing directly from body sensations
✨ Explore techniques for strengthening willpower and creative stamina

We will listen deeply—to our own voices, to the echoes in our bones, to the wisdom that surfaces when we stop seeking and start receiving.

Are you ready to create from your center?

Sign up now → PORTAL STUDIES [BONE COURSE] $165 per person ($111 if you register before March 31) for 5 Sundays of writing, ritual, and trance work in community.

With trust,
KP Kaszubowski

P.S. What’s in your bones? If this speaks to you, I’d love for you to reply and share—where in your body do you feel the call to create?

KP KASZUBOWSKI POET, FILMMAKER, ASTROLOGER Hello Friend, I believe astrology isn’t about changing ourselves — it’s about making a kind, honest acquaintance with all the parts of who we are. When we build that relationship, something beautiful happens: more peace, more self-acceptance, more room to breathe inside our own lives. In my past clients' words: my sessions offer calm, clarity, and self-compassion for all parts of you / help you come out of a spiral and into trust / get you excited...

KP KASZUBOWSKI POET, FILMMAKER, ASTROLOGER In February I put my astrology practice "in the cave" after a very clear gut message saying I needed to make sense for something that was brewing. [this *something* is still in its own cave, and will be for a while as I craft it scene-by-scene] Silly as it sounds, I thought this nudge was to put my practice in the cave for years... turns out I needed a very short pause in order to tend to those creative bulbs. What can I say? I'm a dramatic person....

KP KASZUBOWSKI POET, FILMMAKER, ASTROLOGER Tomorrow is the final day to sign up for portal studies [bone course], and I want to make sure you don’t miss the chance to join this transformative journey. Look, every day we're getting another set of dog-shit news from the people who are supposed to be protecting us. (I don't care if I sound like a West Wing-era Pollyanna when I say I believe our representatives are meant to work for us, not against our basic human needs.) I've personally been...
