Taurus Season: pace yourself (...but how?)

KP KASZUBOWSKI

POET, FILMMAKER, ASTROLOGER

In February I put my astrology practice "in the cave" after a very clear gut message saying I needed to make sense for something that was brewing.

[this *something* is still in its own cave, and will be for a while as I craft it scene-by-scene]

Silly as it sounds, I thought this nudge was to put my practice in the cave for years... turns out I needed a very short pause in order to tend to those creative bulbs.

What can I say? I'm a dramatic person. My artistic life thrives on the drama. And can I tell you that my screenplay project felt doted upon? I made her feel like The One, and I think she needed that to take root!

This is to say: I'm back!

And this time around I'm pacing myself with a couple astrology-related resources. The first is a monthly preview at the up-coming season (posted on YouTube, along with ad hoc videos about astrological and poetic deep dives of mine).

The second is a weekly-ish short form lo-fi podcast called voice notes from an astrologer.

Taurus Season 2025 [Enjoy, Absorb, Savor] Horoscopes for Each Rising Sign | April 19 to May 20, 2025

video preview

Taurus season began at 9:06am CT on Saturday, April 19th: this is the season for slowing down enough to notice the precious things.

The Siberian squill popping out of the ground.

The flaky salt on the butter on the bread.

The way your best friend sounds when she tells you she is grateful to live so near to the river.

Here are some poems I love that feel Taurean to me:

Taurus season is here to remind us that we thrive in the embodied, intentional moments.

Personally, I am feeling called out for this ever-present sense of urgency in my life.

To keep pace.

To keep up with the rate of my ideas.

And so I've been contemplating what it means to pace oneself. What do we need to make room for -- outside of unforeseen contingencies? How can we anticipate burnout and prevent it (please)?

What in our charts can give us information for our energy levels, the intervals of time we need to plan something short term or long term?

It's not just Mars, or the 6th house, or Venus.

Or our chart ruler.

It's a combination of all of these and other patterns, for sure.

My most recent "voice notes from an astrologer" episode focuses on clients that feel hyper-motivated (but not focused enough, possibly) and other clients who feel concerned with their inability to find motivation.

And, the relief in acknowledging our personal nature and rhythms despite societal expectations.

my impetus for "voice notes from an astrologer":

I'm trying something a little new... I have a high comfort level with writing my thoughts out, slowly, and editing them, refining, perfecting. I use the word "comfort" intentionally: it is comforting to me to think on the page and to know I have total control over the grammar, spelling, and sense-making.

I want to have this level of comfort with my voice, a way for people to feel me more fully. It's with the voice that the head and heart combine to share the full resonance of what I mean to say.

Or, at least, this feels important right now in my life.

So, along with this podcast, the new thing I'm trying: personalized horoscopes through voice notes.

This week (Saturday, April 19 - Saturday, April 24), I am offering voice note readings ($15 for you or $25 for you and a friend) on the theme of motivation, pacing oneself, and how your unique planetary energies can be used toward making action that feels natural to you.

Does this interest you? Shoot me an email with your birth date, time, and place! Or head over to my Instagram and check the stories for more details.

Other things a-foot:

  • portal studies [bone course] has begun! The first class was so juicy, so nourishing. I'm looking forward to witnessing this group of bright people... and wow, Breena's guided trance meditation opened up something raw in me around the idea of ego, power, and heart-definition.
  • Chelsea Owens and I are cooking something up around connecting IFS therapy and astrology ideas... more on that soon!
  • I'm also working on some astro-branding and website creation projects with some clients. Maybe I'll be able to show them in the next newsletter. My *design mind* is having a lot of fun with these.

Thanks for reading along. Thank you always <3

I am curious what you think about your own pacing and motivation patterns.

What have you found to be true for you?

KP KASZUBOWSKI POET, FILMMAKER, ASTROLOGER Tomorrow is the final day to sign up for portal studies [bone course], and I want to make sure you don’t miss the chance to join this transformative journey. Look, every day we're getting another set of dog-shit news from the people who are supposed to be protecting us. (I don't care if I sound like a West Wing-era Pollyanna when I say I believe our representatives are meant to work for us, not against our basic human needs.) I've personally been...

KP KASZUBOWSKI POET, FILMMAKER, RESEARCHER Dear Friend, What if you could tap into the deep wisdom of your body, sharpen your creative instincts, and build unshakable self-belief in just five Sundays? That’s what our [bone course] is designed to do. When Breena and I created this first portal study, we thought we’d focus on grief, on honoring what’s been lost. But what emerged was something even more urgent: a call to personal power, resilience, and creative grit. This course was built in...

KP KASZUBOWSKI POET, FILMMAKER, RESEARCHER I am inspired by this poem "Invisible Dreams" by Toi Derricotte where she urgently declares, "I have to make place for my body/in my body." I take this as instructions for me, my body in my body, and place-making as essential in the creative process. This poem inspired much of what helped Breena Fain and I design one of the 5 classes in PORTAL STUDIES [BONE COURSE]. Your body already knows the way. Every oracle, every divination system, every...
